Day three of being sick, but I feel like I am finally on the up and up. After sitting on my butt all day binge watching the food network and trying to rest, I couldn’t help but day dream about the magnolia purchases that I made this past weekend. I had to share! As much as I am dying to put them all on display, I feel as though my apartment is beyond unworthy to display such glory. Our apartment is itty-bitty tiny and I was ready to move out a long time ago… so I’ve begun to pack away my decorations and our whimpy apartment looks naked now. Don’t judge my decorating skills based on the current state of my apartment… This is just our life right now.
First item out of my shopping bag: some of Joanna’s iron encased vases. These beauts were on display at the market and Joanna had a few sprigs of herbs and also stems of cotton in several of the vases. I was obsessed at first sight. I plan to feature these at our home on our ship lap fireplace. Yes, I am getting a ship lap fireplace. *fist pump*
Second item in my shopping bag: a chicken feeder. I had no intent whatsoever walking into the market determined to buy a chicken feeder, but when I saw it, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. In that moment of my indecisiveness, I decided to apply the golden rule of shopping that my beloved mother-in-law taught me: If you can’t stop thinking about it, buy it. So I did. It’s hard to tell in the picture, but this thing is almost five feet long! I plan to feature this as a center piece on my round farmhouse table and stuff it with flowers or any other seasonal decoration that inspires me.
Third item in my shopping bag: a little white barn butter dish. I think that the kitchen department was by-far the hardest section to choose from because I wanted it all. My tab was already starting to add up quick from my vases and chicken feeder so I opted on this adorable little butter barn dish. Obviously a staple for any farmhouse kitchen.
Forth item out of my shopping bag: a magnolia farms long sleeve tee. What can I say? I’m a die hard fan girl. I couldn’t help myself. I kept asking my sweet Kendall if he wanted anything from the “Chip” section but he didn’t seem as thrilled by the clothes as I was so I nabbed me this. I may or may not have worn this almost every day since I bought it…
Sadly, the last item out of my shopping bag: a Magnolia magnet! Kendall and I aren’t much into collecting things when we travel, but I wanted to make a tradition of getting a magnet from wherever one of our adventures takes us. This magnet is by far my favorite on display on our fridge now.
I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am to up my game from random mismatched thrift store finds to my newly acquired pieces of magnolia. I have been building up a magnolia fund for months as I awaited the day when I would be able to go on my shopping spree, but to my utter delight, my friends and family know me all too well so I was supplied with a lovely little lump sum of birthday money to be used at Magnolia Market.
Turns out, I didn’t even end up using any of the money that I had been saving for my magnolia fund! As we were driving to Magnolia Market and I was surfing Facebook, I came across an almost new washer and dryers that my friends were selling, so I used my saved up magnolia money to put towards our washer and dryer. What a blessing this was to me! The day after we got back from Waco, we picked up our new finds and put them in their new forever home. Having these beauties almost makes me want to do laundry. Almost…
Kendall and I have created a list of things that we need for our new home before we are officially able to move in and a washer and dryer was on the list. That means we are one step closer to being out of our apartment and into our new home! And one step closer to being able to decorate a home that Joanna could be proud of.
Our doors are open and you are always welcome…
